FAQ
WHAT IS NECRETE MADE OF?
Necrete is a cement replacement that uses sulphur as a binder that is combined with aggregates and additives in order to match portland cement properties in concrete.
WHAT ARE THE TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES?
Except for carbon neutrality we have several interesting technical advantages over regular concrete
- High compression strength
- Chemical stability & high acid resistance
- Fast curing
(demoulding in a few hours & full strength in approx. 24h)
- 100% recyclable
HOW CAN I INVEST IN YOUR STARTUP?
We're currently only open for investments from institutional investors who are doing or have done rounds for cleantech start ups. We're currently in the seed stage and raising our series A.
DO YOU HAVE INTERN POSITIONS?
We're currently not looking for any additional interns but feel free to send us your resumé and we'll contact you as soon as a position opens up.
WHY IS IT SO LOW CARBON?
Necrete eliminates the need for cement in concrete. It's responsible for large amounts of carbon dioxide emissions when it's burned at very high temperatures. First off to reach these temperatures (>1400°C) and then because of the pyrolysis reaction that burns of the CO2 of CaCO3 and thus creating CO2.
Necrete is produced below 200°C and all heat can be generated electrically with green energy.
HOW DO WE WORK?
Our onboarding is a three phased process.
Phase I: Analyses & Testing
Phase II: Pilot plant
Phase III: Start up & implementation

CAN I ALSOÂ SWITCH TO NECRETE?
Yes, you can if you meet the following criteria. Produce pre-cast concrete in a batch or semi-batch process, use metal molds and be capable of growth.
CAN SULPHUR CONCRETE BE REINFORCED?
Yes, depending on the technical requirements the correct reinforcement (fiber or rebar) can be fitted.
